February 2, 2016 – The State Water Resources Control Board adopted an emergency water conservation regulation that extends the requirements of the existing regulation through October 2016. Click here for further information on the regulation.
On November 13, 2015, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., issued an Executive Order that calls for additional actions to build on the State’s ongoing response to record drought. The Executive Order also intensifies the State’s drought response by extending emergency conservation regulations through October 2016, if drought persists through January 2016. The District still urges customers to continue to find ways of conserving water and reducing their usage.
Calleguas, our wholesale water purveyor is well below their 15% reduction target from Metropolitan and our Districts are also below their targets from Calleguas which makes imposition of a surcharge from Calleguas unlikely, and so on December 15, 2015, the Board of Supervisors authorized the District to defer collection of water use (pass-through) surcharges. The District will continue to track and inform customers of the amount of any such deferred surcharge payments through the billing system and on monthly bills. The bills will continue to show the CMWD Surcharges in the Total Amount Due until the billing system is updated. Customers are advised that payment of the CMWD Surcharges Tier 1 & 2 are deferred at this time. All other charges must be paid in full. For questions, please call our Billing Office at (805) 378-3000.
